Emerging Professionals Group

The Emerging Professionals Group (EPG) is an initiative to generate visibility and increase membership among college and university students and those early in their Supply Chain Management and Procurement careers. The EPG hosts a program of events that provide value to those “up and coming” in the supply management field. EPG programs are always open to all ISM-Philadelphia members and to non-members as well. The EPG Program will host events focusing on three key areas:

Dear ISM friends,

It’s hard to believe the summer season is nearly over.  Soon we’ll be into September, with the promise of a new school year ahead of us.
It’s been many years since I was in school.  Still, I can’t help but think of September as the new school year.  It’s a time to set new goals and priorities, and a time to think about the challenges that lie ahead of us this year.

Maybe it’s been many years since you were a student, or perhaps you’re just entering the workforce.  Whatever your situation, think back on how you felt before you were out in the working world.  Do you remember wondering, “what does it take to succeed?”  “Am I good enough?”  “What skills do I need to get a decent job in my profession?”

Now that you’ve had a little experience working in the supply chain profession, why not share your wisdom with others.  There are students preparing for school right now, who have the same questions we once did.  You have the answers in your day-to-day routines and experiences that could help resolve important questions for a student or emerging professional.

I invite you to make helping a young person starting out a part of your goals for this year.  Mark your calendar and register now for the Mini-Mega Networking Event at the Manayunk Brewery on October 4th and start a conversation with a young professional.  If you know a young professional, who is not yet part of ISM, invite them to join us.  It should be a good time.  Who knows, you may learn something new yourself!

And, don’t forget to check out the other events ISM has planned this year; our September dinner event is just around the corner.  It should be a fantastic year, with tons of opportunity to network with your peers, learn, and grow.

I look forward to seeing you all there.
